Creating genome summary
- Click on
Create Genome Summary
- Select
NECEvent_Samples
- For large number of datasets: Select all of them
- For small to medium datasets: Select a subset of them
- Click on
Go to Genome Summary
- Track the loading time
- Click on
Select organisms
- Go through the
Genome Summary - Organism Menu
selection process - After you have selected the genomes, check the notification message has the correct number of organisms
- Go through the
- Click on
Select lists
- Go through the

- Go through the
- Verify that the genome summary is correct
- Verify the chosen lists
- Verify the chosen organisms
Interacting with genome summary
- Mouse over one of the cells
- Check the visibility of the X-axis and Y-axis labels.
- Check the visibility of the info box and the Count
- Mouse over the lists on X-axis at the top
- Check only the mouseover column is highlighted
- If an organism has more than one feature in the list, the horizontal bar should be longer
- Freeze the vertical selection by clicking on one of the lists on the X-axis at the top
- Click anywhere else to unfreeze the selection
- Mouse over the organisms on the Y-axis
- Check only the mouseover row is highlighted
- If an organism has more than one feature in the list, the vertical bar should be longer
- Freeze the horizontal selection by clicking an organism or one of the taxonomical hierarchy
- Click anywhere else to unfreeze the selection
Using the dropdown menus
- Select from the
View
dropdown- Make sure the Organism list is displayed according to its taxonomy, coverage, or user’s selection
- Select from the
Color
dropdown- Make sure color changes
- Select from the
Cellsize
dropdown- Make sure that cell size changes
Downloading
- Click on SVG to make sure it can be downloaded and opened.
- Click on TSV to make sure it can be downloaded and opened.
Changing selection
- Click on
Select organisms
to change the organisms selection- Make sure that Genome Summary is updated accordingly
- Click on
Select lists
to change the lists selection- Make sure that Genome Summary is updated accordingly
Saving genome summary
- Click on
Choose name
- Enter a name and click
Save Changes
- Click on
Your genome summaries
to make sure that the new GS shows up on the list.
Deleting genome summary
- Click on Delete in the
Your saved genome summaries
page and confirm.
While you are NOT logged in…
Repeat most of the above tests
- except Saving and Deleting genome summary
Access other people’s GS
- Access a particular GS: http://ggkbase-dev.berkeley.edu/genome_summaries/1035-Test-GS
- Make any changes to the genome summary
- Make sure that the genome summary CANNOT be saved
